Quote of the Day

"Jesus took the loaves and fish, he blessed them, and brake them, and gave them to his startled disciples, and commanded them to distribute them to the vast crowd. They did so and everyone had all he needed to satisfy his hunger - and then the disciples gathered up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. (John 6)

Had there been enough? Yes, enough and to spare. It is always the same with Jesus, He has 'enough and to spare' of grace, and love, and the power of his fellowship. He will never fail to give us all we need for absolute happiness and peace and contentment in Him. Wonderful gospel!

As Paul asked, when the Holy Spirit challenged him (and, through him, all of us) ...'And who is sufficient for these things?' (II Cor. 2:16) And he answered, 'Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;' (II Cor. 3:5) ... He has enough of everything I need. He is my sufficiency for every single day of my life, whatever it holds of joy or sorrow, blessing or challenge, of pleasure or pain." (Helen Roseveare)

Quote of the Day

"Nothing is small or great in God's eyes; whatever He wills becomes great to us, however seemingly trifling. Once the voice of conscience tells us that He requires anything of us, we have no right to measure its importance. On the other hand, whatever He would not have us do, however important we may think it, is as nought to us. How do you know what you may lose by neglecting this duty, which you think so trifling, or the blessing which its faithful performance may bring? Be sure you will not be left without sufficient help if you do your very best in that which is laid upon you daily...give yourself to Him, listen to His voice and then go on bravely and cheerfully."
