"Has He the power to enable us to give all these attitudes to Him and to allow the Holy Spirit to deal honestly and truly with all that displeases Him? I am not really asking 'Has He enough power to do what needs to be done in me?' but rather, 'Have I enough grace and humility to acknowledge what I need and to allow Him to make the necessary change?' Yet I know that the needed grace and humility are His. And He certainly has enough of both to fulfill my need."
(Helen Roseveare in the book Enough p. 51-52)
Luke 8:54
"And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid arise." Luke 8:54

Quote of the Day
"More and more, I have come to realize that love for my dear Lord and Saviour has to displace all other loves. Nothing else really counts. I must allow His love so to possess me that anything that hurts Him hurts me. Equally, anything and everything that He loves, I am happy to love equally." (Helen Roseveare)

Quote of the Day
"Jesus took the loaves and fish, he blessed them, and brake them, and gave them to his startled disciples, and commanded them to distribute them to the vast crowd. They did so and everyone had all he needed to satisfy his hunger - and then the disciples gathered up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. (John 6)
Had there been enough? Yes, enough and to spare. It is always the same with Jesus, He has 'enough and to spare' of grace, and love, and the power of his fellowship. He will never fail to give us all we need for absolute happiness and peace and contentment in Him. Wonderful gospel!
As Paul asked, when the Holy Spirit challenged him (and, through him, all of us) ...'And who is sufficient for these things?' (II Cor. 2:16) And he answered, 'Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;' (II Cor. 3:5) ... He has enough of everything I need. He is my sufficiency for every single day of my life, whatever it holds of joy or sorrow, blessing or challenge, of pleasure or pain." (Helen Roseveare)
